The Team

Kevin Mooney – Assistant Trainer

A successful jump jockey, probably best known for his thrilling win on Special Cargo in the Whitbread Gold Cup for the Queen Mother in 1984, Kevin is an invaluable member of the team. He is responsible for the hands on day to day running of the yard and is the main communication link between Charles and the rest of his staff.

Debbie Bracewell – Racing Secretary

Debbie (right) has worked for Charles (and Barry before him) for 18 years. Following the birth of Ben in December 2009 she has returned to work part time. There have been many highlights over the years for Debbie but two that stand out are a treble at York in 1995 when Royal Applause, Sanmartino and Mubhij all scored by narrow margins, and Ghanaati's outstanding wins this year. Further Flight is Debbie's favourite horse due to his bravery and incredible longevity.

Stephanie Potter – Racing Secretary

Stephanie Potter Steph has worked for Charles (and Barry before him) for 5 years. Like Debbie Ghanaati's wins have been a major highlight for Steph, as are the efforts of Ellaal who is her favourite horse in the yard at the moment.

Tara Clegg – Assistant Racing Secretary

tara_small Tara was brought up around horses and went straight into racing when she left school. She worked for Peter Moody in Australia and has ridden out for Jamie Osborne in this country. Outisde work Tara trains and rides her own Point To Pointers. She also rides out one lot before work for Charles.

Myra Baker – Book Keeper

Myra (second left) has worked for Charles (and Barry before him) for 10 years. Myra occasionally rides out and always enjoys the annual girls trip to Royal Ascot.

Geoff Snook, Ian ‘Scan’ Wilder, John Burrows – Travelling Head Lads

As the team responsible for getting the horses to and from the races safely the vastly experienced trio of Geoff (middle), Scan (left) and John (right) are all familiar faces with the owners and on the racecourse.

Joe Herbert  – Pupil Assistant

Joe Joe is Charles’s current Pupil Assistant. He is an excellent horsemen who has previously worked for Peter Moody in Australia, as well a spell in America and here for Charlie Mann. Joe works closely with Kevin and provides important back up to him.

Profile of the Month

Alison Aldritt

Amber_S_Website

Alison is the Head Girl in charge of the New Row and has worked for Barry, and now Charlie, for 22 years. Alison started her career with Harry Thompson Jones in Newmarket, and has also worked for Geoff Lewis and John Akehurst. During her time at Faringdon Place she has looked after some exceptional horses such as Storming Home and Equiano, while she has also looked after yard favourites Dabbers Ridge and Zaahid. She counts Storming Home as the best horse she has ridden, but her all time favourite is Zaahid who she describes as a 'complete gentleman'. At present Alison's charges are Cool Macavity and Dark Don. Her horse to look out for this year is Shame On You.

Outside work Alison likes to relax with a glass of wine (don't we all!), and enjoys reading and spending time with her friends.
